Major League Baseball announces start time for Indians-Yankees ALDS Game 3

Bauer to start for Indians in Game 1 of ALDS

The NBA star attended Thursday night's playoff game between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians along with his Cavaliers teammates, who were at several postseason games a year ago when the Indians got to the World Series.

In the AL Wild Card Game on Tuesday night, it wasn't time for the Yankees' young core to trust the team's veterans.

It was at Progressive Field that last year's World Series concluded with the Chicago Cubs defeating the Cleveland Indians in a thrilling game seven.

Instead, it will be New York's Sonny Gray vs. Cleveland's Trevor Bauer in Game 1 on Thursday. The Indians had the AL's best record at 102-60 while the Yankees went 91-61, good for the fourth-best record.

"I was about to say it's incredible", James said, "But I want to come back and do another video when you all got like a 40-game winning streak. That's part of the reason I loved those teams but I definitely support what the Indians are doing right now'". "It's not just versus the Yankees, it's in any game that we'd like to score early and often and keep pressing".

"You scout him as best you can and you try to figure out a game plan for him and go out there and execute it". That might not have been true if the Dodgers had stayed on pace for 115 wins, but not only did they fade down the stretch, but they were nearly caught by both the Astros and last year's hard luck World Series loser the Cleveland Indians. "You know I'm a Yankees fan and will stick with them". The Yankees pulled starter Luis Severino from the game, just recording one out. In 11 starts for the Yankees, he went 4-7 with a 3.72 ERA.

Nothing comes easy this time of year, and the ALDS will be no exception. "I would really like to see the Yankees win, but let's see if the Cubs can get hot and win another one".

If Girardi had a number of tough decisions to make with his lineup - he used Hicks in center field, Jacoby Ellsbury at designated hitter and Bird at first base, leaving Chase Headley and Matt Holliday on the bench - choosing a starting pitcher was not one of them. Both Cleveland and NY are very well-rounded clubs with extremely good bullpens, and very deep lineups. Gray's career record against Cleveland is 3-3 with a 3.38 ERA. In two starts against the Yankees he was 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA.

And while fans across the country are excited about watching the colossal Judge, who blasted 52 homers as a rookie and seems to hit the ball hard every time he's up, face Indians ace Corey Kluber and baseball's deepest pitching staff, Cleveland manager Terry Francona isn't as thrilled. "They've got some scrappy guys that put the ball in play and run", Bauer said. But when all is said and done for me, the World Series matchup doesn't matter - I'm going to watch it anyway. The way you win (playoff series) is you have different guys doing it on a daily basis. NY went 51-30 at home, best in the AL, while the Indians were 49-32 at home and 53-28 on road.
